Microsoft Enterprise Administrator and cyber security consultant based in Perth, Western Australia. Thirteen years across three countries, and a fairly simple belief: good IT should be boring, documented, and owned by the people who depend on it.
Background
From plant rooms to Microsoft 365 tenants
I started out as the only IT person for a shopping mall, a hotel and a construction group, the kind of role where nobody cares which layer the fault is on, only that it works. That was followed by ISP network operations, then installing network and IT-based medical systems across hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities and a major theme park in the UAE.
Since moving to Western Australia I have worked almost entirely with purpose-driven organisations: child and family services, then an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation, where I now lead ICT across four sites. Alongside that I run an independent consultancy for not-for-profits and small businesses that need the same standard of work without a full internal IT department.
The work has narrowed over time into what I am best at, taking a manual, risky or undocumented process and turning it into something secure, automated and handed over properly, on infrastructure that is built to stay up rather than be rescued every day.

What you can expect
Measure before rewriting
I audit what is actually there before proposing changes. Plenty of problems turn out to be configuration, not architecture.
Everything is written down
Action logs with old value, new value and result. Manuals and role guides. If I disappeared tomorrow, your team could carry on.
Reversible first
Security and infrastructure changes are staged so the low-risk, reversible work happens first and nothing is a surprise.
Plain language
You will get a straight explanation of the risk and the trade-off, not jargon designed to make the invoice look bigger.
Security that people can live with
Controls that staff can actually work under. Hardening that blocks the job just gets worked around.
Honest scope
If something is not worth doing, or you do not need me for it, I will say so.
